"Secrets of the Sun – Journey Into the Fire" is an-depth exploration of the genesis and creation of American artist Peter Erskine's unique solar spectrum environmental art. Beginning in 1989, the film follows Erskine as he undergoes a profound personal crisis brought on by his sudden awareness of the reality of Climate Change. The film follows Erskine to Rome, where, in 1992, he stages the successful inaugural exhibition of his unique, transformational, consciousness-raising artwork at historically significant Trajan's Market situated within the Roman Forum. The film then revisits Erskine and his unique art 20 years later, revealing a surprising and inspirational new dimension of Secrets of the Sun.
