Always at ground zero in the chaos is Rambo -- gloriously, inhumanly impervious to fear and danger -- whose character is inhabited by Stallone with messianic intensity.

By this time Stallone had become so thoroughly established in the role that he really does manage a lot of the heavy lifting (literally and metaphorically) all by himself.
