Two women, one from America and one from Britain, swap homes at Christmastime after bad breakups with their boyfriends. Each woman finds romance with a local man but realizes that the imminent return home may end the relationship.
It can be considered a lovely comfort film: the conflicts are not so serious, the performances are charming, the locations are beautiful, the romance is mature but never too explicit, and the comedy is gentle and even innocent.

The Holiday is still so utterly charming. It's like a warm hug, perfect for any time of the year but especially fitting for Christmas. The cast is stellar and Jude Law as daddy Mr Napkinhead is so swoonworthy my TV caught fire.
