Zlotowski similarly thickens her plot with romance, revelations of trauma and surrealistic visions, but with a light touch that becomes progressively playful. The more Lilian discovers, the less clear-eyed she seems and the more winner her personality becomes. The intrigue is far-fetched and surprising - this is one movie you can't write in your head - and delivered with increasing winks and charm.
